Below is a list of corrections to known errors in the first printing of Shadish, Cook and Campbell (2002). The vast majority of them are corrections of typographical errors, misspellings, pagination errors, omission or duplication of words, and grammatical errors, or updating of a few references. However, a few substantive errors also exist. Hence, the errors are listed in two groupings, with the latter (substantive) errors first.  Corrections to the second printing follow this list.

We would appreciate readers calling to our attention any other errors in the book. Comments can be emailed to wshadish@ucmerced.edu.

  2. Page     397, rule 3a under “Path Equations” paragraph, delete both occurrences of      “exogenous”, and insert “directly” between “that” and “causes”, so that     the rule should read “the path coefficient for the first variable that     directly causes the endogenous variable, multiplied by the variable;     plus”.
  3. Page     397, rule 3b under “Path Equations” paragraph, delete “exogenous”, and     insert “directly” between “that” and “causes”, so that the rule should     read “continuing this process for every variable that directly causes this     particular endogenous variable until the last one is added to the     equation; plus”.
  4. Page     431, line 5 from top, replace “D = 107” with “D = 75”.
