Research

Our research focus is application of multi-scale simulations and measurements to understand fundamental mechanisms underlying tribological phenomena. Current areas of active research include:

  • Atomic-scale friction
  • Thin film lubrication
  • Solid lubricants and coatings
  • Scanning probe wear
  • Micro-tribometry
  • Lubricant additives
